So my Marine’s previously approved leave request got denied AFTER he bought his plane ticket… he was flying to Cali from Okinawa
Not only that, his plane ticket isn’t refundable.
So now he just wasted 1200 dollars with no way to get it back, which means that he can’t see me OR his family, which he hasn’t seen in more than a year.
Have any of you milsos dealt with a problem like this? If so, what did you do to not only calm down your SO, but how did you get around the problem?
I really don’t know what to do…

The CO can deny an approved request at any time for whatever reason. It’s happened before, so it was a possibility we kept in mind. We weren’t expecting it to be so soon though. He didn’t get into any trouble or anything, at least none that I am aware of.
He managed to get a refund for his ticket though, so we are slightly happy about that.
